Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night at Scolari's Office in North Park becomes scenester central. The attraction? Free music. Not just jukebox music, mind you, though the bar does have one of those. In a cramped space near the front door, a tiny, cleared space becomes a stage where local bands can play cover-free shows for their friends and anyone else who wants to check them out. Sometimes the bands are totally unknown. More than a few local groups have gotten their feet wet at Scolari's. Other times, popular local bands pack the bar so full that the bouncer must refuse further admittance. Monday night is open jam night if you care to take part of the action front and center.
